Legacy Home > About Legacy

Time is a priceless and finite resource, particularly for community-minded young professionals. While there are literally thousands of volunteer opportunities for young professionals across the region, Legacy offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth in the broader context of regional economic and cultural development. Put another way, most Legacy members are seeking maximum return and impact from their volunteer investment, and they get a premium on the precious time they invest in Legacy.

In addition to the strong sense of fulfillment which comes from hands-on public service projects, Legacy provides members with a diverse network of professional relationships, lasting friendships, and an efficient vehicle for improving the region’s economic and cultural standing. If you are inspired by the creativity and ingenuity of projects like the Legacy Nonprofit Board Fair; the Roebling Murals at the Covington floodwall; the Mentoring Program; the Leaders for a New Generation Speaker Series; the 2003 Gubernatorial Debate; monthly educational meetings with university presidents, school superintendents, executives of Fortune 500 companies, elected officials, and other civic and business leaders. If you believe it’s important to make a meaningful contribution to society, if cultivating professional relationships and building personal friendships appeals to you, if you find fulfillment in volunteerism, if you want to become a better leader; and if you believe that our future is better planned than left to chance, you have found a home and partnership in Legacy.

In a very real sense, we are public entrepreneurs. We are investing our time and talents for the betterment of the region. We create the projects, programs, and initiatives that we believe will benefit those around us, and the generation that follows us. The ideas often come from individual members, but it takes the collective support of Legacy to make real the change, the progress, and the improvement we envision. We welcome new, active members and would be pleased to welcome your insights and talents to our team.
