NEW GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

The focus of Legacy’s New Governance Committee is to get more young professionals involved in public affairs. We are interested in Legacy members networking more effectively, promoting an avid interest in Kentucky and national public policy and government relations, and sharing information in a bipartisan manner. We believe that while fostering leadership and promoting success, Legacy members will have a voice in the direction of our Commonwealth and our nation.

The New Governance Committee has sponsored two continuing programs. One is the Leaders for a New Generation Series and the other is the Frankfort Shadowing Program.

The largest undertaking of the New Governance Committee happened when the committee cochairs established a twenty-five-member community-wide task force to host a debate during the 2003 Kentucky Gubernatorial Election.
